Как рассказал изданию представитель музыканта, Джонсона госпитализировали несколько дней назад в связи с обострением анемии, которой он болел с рождения. Точная причина смерти тем не менее пока не установлена. Prodigy вместе с рэпером Havoc (Хэвок) выступал в музыкальном дуэте Mobb Deep, расцвет которого пришелся на 1990-е годы. A rap icon since the release of Mobb Deep’s The Infamous, P is responsible for some of the illest verses ever committed to record during the height of New York City’s dominance in the mid-90’s and has influenced more MCs and fans that we could possibly imagine. Prodigy’s bars perfectly captured the essence of the city at its grimiest and will go down in history as some of the best gangster rap ever written, period. P’s cause of death has yet to be announced, but any fan of his knows he put up a valiant fight against sickle-cell anemia for most of his adult life.
